South Shields seafront car parks

Increase to seafront parking charges

From Friday 20 September 2024, the current parking rate of 0.01p per minute for the first hour will change.

Instead, the new rate will be £1.20 per hour.

This change will affect all seafront on-street parking and car parks in South Tyneside.

Parking scams

We have reports of fraudulent QR codes in our car parks. We do not operate a QR code payment system.

Payments should only be made by coins, card or the pay by phone service.

Pay by phone should by downloaded from your device's app store. Do not download from a link or website.
