Cleadon Park Library

A lovely ramble with terrific views.

From the library, we will walk down to Cleadon Park and cut through the houses to join the popular Linnet Way. At the water tower, our route will take us down Sunniside Lane towards Cleadon Village, before heading down to Whitburn via Cleadon Lane. Just after the village pond, we will turn up Wellands Lane, cut through the farm and follow a trail through the fields up to the remains of the 19th century windmill. Here, on a clear day, the views stretch out across the borough, south towards County Durham and even beyond to the Cleveland Hills and North Yorkshire. Between October and April, look out for the Exmoor Ponies roaming around the nature reserve. We will return the way we came via the water tower and Cleadon Park.
