This document provides a full assessment of retail needs within South Tyneside, informed by a new telephone survey of households to establish current retail and leisure expenditure patterns.
It was produced to help the development of the draft Local Plan, which was published in 2022.
A revised draft Local Plan, along with supporting documents, was published in January 2024.
