Overview
If you are worried someone is at risk of being radicalised, the governement have a strategy to help tackle this called Prevent.
Prevent is the government's strategy to help:
- local areas to understand the threat of terrorism
- to stop people becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism
In South Tyneside, the Community Safety Partnership prioritises work to prevent people becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism.
Prevent is part of the government's counter-terrorism strategy known as CONTEST.
The aim of CONTEST is to reduce the risk to the UK and its citizens and interests overseas from terrorism.
