Composing and scoring with a freelance music tutor

These activities are suitable for all ages, ranging from early years foundation stage (EYFS) to A Level.

They take place in school and sessions are available one to one or in groups.

Activities include:

  • compositional Skills tuition available for all abilities
  • introduction to composing
  • developing compositional techniques
  • advanced composing and scoring

Cost: £30 per hour

Wind Band with Off Key Music

Community Wind Band is available for children 11 years old and over, at St Oswald's Church Hall.

Events take place every Thursday, 6.45pm to 9pm.

These sessions are a great opportunity for early-stage players to experience ensemble playing, as well as established players who wish to join a friendly wind band.

They welcome all reed, brass and percussionist players.

Harbourmaster Productions recording studios and music tuition

Harbourmaster Productions runs a recording studio at the Prospect House for musicians to use as needed, that is open to all ages and experience levels.

The studio provides mixing and mastering.

They also provide tuition on several instruments, including:

  • guitar
  • bass
  • piano for beginners
  • drums for beginners

Music tuition is available for 6-year-olds and over.

Cost: £20 per hour (for studio hire and music tuition)

Senior Wind Band with the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Music Service

The Senior Wind Band is for intermediate and advanced woodwind, brass and percussion players, aged 9 to 18 years old.

Sessions take place at Epinary School and run every Saturday, 9.30am to 11.30am during term time.

Cost: Free

Junior Wind Band with the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Music Service

The Junior Wind Band is the first ensemble for beginner woodwind, brass and percussion players, aged 8 to 14 years old.

Sessions take place at Epinary School and run every Saturday, 9.30am to 10.30am during term time.

Cost: Free

Drum Young with the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Music Service

This is an opportunity for beginners to join a lively and fun samba band, ideal for those with whole class experience with samba and djembe.

These sessions are suitable for ages 8 to 16 years old.

Sessions take place at Brinkburn CIO and run every Wednesday, 6pm to 8pm during term time.

Intermediate Strings Orchestra with the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Music Service

The Intermediate Strings Orchestra is for more experienced young string players, aged 9 years old and over.  

Sessions take place at East Boldon Junior School and run every Monday, 4.45pm to 5.45pm during term time.

Junior Strings Orchestra with the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Music Service

The Junior Strings Orchestra is for string players just starting out in their first ensemble, aged 6 to 11 years old.   

Sessions take place at East Boldon Junior School and run every Monday, 3.45pm to 4.30pm during term time.

Cool Clarinets with the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Music Service

The Cool Clarinets is a first ensemble experience for clarinet players, aged 8 to 12 years old.   

Sessions take place at Epinay School and run every Saturday, 10.45am to 11.30am during term time.
